Well, the idea behind it came when I started to get real interested in solar cookers. I started to have this page as a project, to speak about this topic, to inform people, to help people know more about them.

Are solar enabled cookers, a fun game or a necessity?

You know why? In some areas of the world, cooking with the sun is a fun thing to do, you just have fun in the garden cooking a hot dog on a solar oven, pretty funny, don’t you think? But for other people, this is not for fun!

For people in some countries in Africa, the solar cooker is a necessity, helping them live each and every day, helping them prepare their meals, saving lives and fire wood. There are people in some countries in Africa that barely afford to buy one of these, or even build one.

For all these reasons I started to think of having one good site about this topic where to speak about it and make it public and open the eyes of those who don’t know, on how important this oven actually is for some parts of the world.

Also, the world we’re living in needs a new source of energy, the current one is exhausting, so we must look for new sources. Sun gives us more than enough energy to keep going, why not use it and save some of the classic energy we use today, save some oil, some wood?

I don’t know if it will make a difference or not. I don’t know, but I will keep posting here until I will have enough information on solar cookers that people will start referring to it as a resource, and the word spread out to more and more people.

That’s my target, if you want and I ask you, please, help me spread the world about  solar cookers!
