The solar cooker: another step for saving the planet
In today’s world we all strive to find better energy sources, we all try to save the planet and the energy it can provide, so looking for alternative sources of energy is the best we can all do. That is why, since a long time, we started to look for new solutions in every possible aspect of our lives. Well, cooking is one aspect that we should not forget and that is why people started thinking about a solar cooker!
How about a solar cooker?
The fact is that in today’s world, cooking takes energy, like gas, wood, oil or electricity and none of these sources should be intensively used anymore. What if we could find another source of energy to cook our meals? What if we could find a way to cook our meals using the energy that sun provides? What if we could discover a solar cooking device?
Well, let me tell you a little secret: the solar cooker has been already discovered, it is intensively used in some parts of this big world, where the sun is strong and where there are conditions for using one, because, of course, you can not use it in any part of the world! Don’t try to use it in Norway, really, it won’t do much good!
Using one of these solar devices for cooking or meals saves the planet with every meal we have, because there won’t be any consumption of energy, there won’t be any waste of energy and no wastes released into the air, nothing to hurt the environment on the long run. Cooking with the help of the sun is safe, clean, fun and useful, after all it will provide us with the food we need without spending a penny on gas. How cool is that?
Also, building a solar cooker is not much of a challenge, actually a high school teen can do it as a school project, you know? I will actually go a bit more in details about how to build a cooker powered up with solar energy in one of the next days. The fact that is not hard to build, doesn’t cost much and it’s fun to use, and in some parts of the world, quite vital.
There are many shapes one of these solar cooking devices can take and I will try here to present as many as possible, so we could all learn from this experience and hoping this site will serve as a help for those willing to try to build one for themselves.
However, again, please keep in mind that it may not work, depending on your geographical location, of course, like I have already said, probably you won’t be very successful in using one in Norway or Finland. But again, who knows, maybe you will be, if so, give us a sign and send us a movie or a picture to put you here on this site, we may all learn from your experience.
