Homemade solar cooker

Well, a homemade solar cooker, that’s one thing you will be able to build in no time! I was telling you earlier that it takes a high school student and a couple of materials you have around the house to build one, so there is no much stress about it, which is actually good because we wouldn’t want to spend too much time, energy or money in such a project, wouldn’t we?

Building yourself one is a great project when you have a bit of spare time and you are good with your hands. I was telling you about the types of such sun powered cookers and about a few of them, easy to build using just a windshield shade, which is actually, I think, the easiest one to build yourself. Don’t you agree?

So, what you need for a homemade solar cooker?

Not much, you need two cardboard boxes, some paper used as insulation around the sides, and aluminum foil. That’s it!

With such a box you can get temperatures up to 190 F. There are other designs that allowed temperatures of 250 F, which is wild! At this temperature, cooking is fun and it doesn’t take much time. Of course, you don’t even need this temperature in order to be able to cook, but if you get it is great!
