The solar cooker is a good way to save fire wood and keep people safe
There are more reasons to use a solar cooker, not only the lack of fire wood, but also the desire to save the planet. If you think about how much wood we use in order to prepare food in the areas where gas is not an option and wood is the main fuel for making fire, you should really consider such a way to cook your meal. Really.
The advantages are huge, price is very and I mean very low, the quality of the process itself is great, doesn’t need fuel in order to run, only solar energy, which you can find plenty of, for free. For example, in Gaza for example, they are used in many places.

In India, there is a village called Bysanivaripalle that uses sun to cook their meals, 100%. Now, that’s a healthy environment, I guess, think about it, and how good you could feel knowing that you saved a few trees in a few weeks just because you chose to go with another fuel source.
In Darfur refugee camps, the solar cooker was a life saving solution
No kidding here, women needed to go to pick fire woods from the woods, many of them ending up being kidnapped, raped or even murdered. Solar cooking was a way to keep them safe, in an controlled environment where they won’t be threatened by any outside danger.
