The solar cooker school project

If you are looking for the best school project around, to impress your school mates and your teachers, a solar cooker may be exactly what the doctor ordered. No kidding.

Let’s see why a solar cooker may be a good school project

  • A solar cooker is so easy to build that the skills required for it is not big thing, you could build it without specific help, other than the general information on how to build it.
  • A school project should not be expensive since the funds available for it are not large, is it right? Well, building one is not expensive, most of the materials needed in the process are not expensive and you can find them anywhere around your house
  • A school project should have an educational side, and this one has plenty. Think of the fact that it helps the planet, produces green energy, saves traditional energy, this is exactly what everybody tries to do these days, when the price of the energy and the availability of it are subjects to discuss everywhere.
The only thing that you should consider, is that being a school project, in the end you should prove it works, so you will need to start it at one moment.

What happens if your sun powered school project won’t work?

The problem here may be that the sun won’t be available everywhere and at any time. How about if you want to present your project on a cloudy day? Not good…or should I say Today is not a good day for science!!(Dexter)
Anyway, first of all you should think how sunny this part of the world you’re living in really is. You should talk to your teacher to see what happens if your sun cooking school project, well, won’t start, you should ask your teacher that.
Will it count that you have built a great product that works well in sunny conditions if it will not make any fuss when you will present it?

How to impress your teacher and school mates with your school project sun cooker

Also, as a nice thing to have, just in case the sun won’t be around, you should prepare a nice presentation of your sun oven school project, with pictures, a schema, description, temperatures it can produce and what you can cook on it, and , why not, a few other types you can find on the internet, to show how others do it.
If you know you will have a sunny weather, you should prepare something for your school mates and your teacher using your oven. Something easy to make, like a tea or something, boil the water using solar energy and offer one cup of tea to your mates.
It should be great and I can already guarantee you a good grade on you solar cooker school project!
