Windshield shade solar cooker
When I said that building a solar cooker is not hard, and you can actually do it with the materials you have around the house, I was not kidding, and the “house” can be extended to “car” also since this it is built from a windshield shade. Pretty easy to build, if you think that the only thing you need to do is to bend the windshield shade to take the desired shape and then place a stick to keep it open. That’s again one of the panel sun cookers, as I have listed them here.
Just add the black pot in the plastic bag and turn it around, to face the sun and the cooking can begin.
This is known to have been built by Kathy Dahl-Bredine, who lives and works in the south of Mexico. She wanted to obtain a cheap and fast way to build a sun powered cooking device and that is exactly what she did!

This way you get a very easy to build solar cooker, that can be easily carried around and stored, since the material is very easy and doesn’t have any frame.
And you know what? Building it took about $3-4. Pretty convenient. And the result was better than with other solar cookers I have tried so far.
