Hot to make a $75.000 solar cooker from a cardboard box

A lot of people ask about how to make a solar cooker and the question is usually related to how to make it starting from a pair of cardboard boxes. I think this is related to that guy who earned $75.000 for a homemade solar cooker that costs $7.

That’s a victory for no matter who, no matter in what side of the world. That guy built the oven proving that it works, starting with the need he had. He lives in Kenya, his name is John Bohmer. He put together this sun powered device so he won’t be forced to look for wood anymore, in the woods.

In that part of the world, firewood is a must have and usually women go into the woods and search for firewood, but this is a dangerous job since you can run into thieves that can even kill you. Dangerous woods, in my opinion.

The prize was received  from the Forum for the Future and the box will be produced in a factory in Nairobi. Now, that’s a success! The man says he was amazed how simple it was to build one. It took him about a weekend to build it and $7 as investments.

Now, if you still think about whether to to build a solar oven at home or not, think of this man, take him as an example and get to work immediately!
