Solar cooker recipes: Pot Roast

OK, you could see that post about solar cooker recipes coming from the moment you realized this site is about solar cookers and sun cooking. If you cook anything, even with the sun, you need recipes, that’s for sure.

Honestly speaking, cooking with the sun is not such an old occupation (but not that new also, remember the first solar oven article of a few days ago?)

So, let’s see a few solar cooking recipes! Today, Pot Roast

Pot Roast recipe

That’s a good one, you only need 1 lean beef chuck or similar roast- about 3 lbs and 1 pound of dry onion soup mix

You should cut the meat, not more than 2 or 3 chunks, 2 or 3 will do just fine, put the roast into a black pot, remember, black pots work way better with solar cooking because black absorbs the light, put the pot into a temperature bag, empty one package of dry onion soup mix over the meat and cover the lid or you can wrap it.

Allow it 4 to 6 hours in the sun so it can cook well.

Enjoy your meal!

Well, that was one fast and easy recipe for cooking with the sun a great meal. I will try to add here more since if you have or build a sun oven, you will need to cook something with it, you will not use it just with a thermometer to measure the temperature inside it and that’s all. Not a chance, I bet you will want plenty of recipes to try it each and every day.
